Position Title Accounting Technician
Announcement Summary

There are currently two Accounting Technician vacancies in the College’s Office of Business and Finance. Applicants will be considered for both positions, unless an applicant specifies in their application documents that they are only interested in one of the vacancies.


In the first position, the individual processes government third-party payments for Veterans Administration Chapter 33 (Post 911) and Continuing Education billings; balances accounts and reconcile discrepancies as necessary with students, college personnel, and third parties; maintains various accounting records and reports for the College’s financial aid program including loans and scholarship; performs general accounting duties and prepares reports as assigned.

In the second position, the individual assumes a full range of general cashiering functions; analyzes student account information and participates in researching complex issues related to payment records; interprets and explains College policies and procedures relating to registration and student refunds; processes account adjustments and refunds for both curriculum and non-curriculum classes; performs general accounting duties and prepares reports as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Experience with Microsoft Excel and Word; excellent data entry and communication skills; strong attention to detail and effective organization skills; two years of increasingly responsible general clerical experience including one year of accounting clerical experience; Associate’s degree from an accredited college with major course work in accounting or closely related field, or equivalent.

Preferred Requirements

Colleague (Ellucian) experience; community college experience
